After gaining national attention on American Idol, Alabama-born Paul McDonald returned to his Nashville songwriting roots. His latest work, "So Long to the Dark Side," is a gospel-tinged collection of "cosmic Americana" influenced by Tom Petty. Alongside The Mourning Doves, McDonald delivers a raw, lived-in energy that blurs the line between a rock show and a revival.

    Opening Act:
    The Threadbarons

    The Threadbarons

The music of the Threadbarons is informed by the vast variety of life. Members hail from New York, Illinois, and Colorado. They range in age from their matured 40s to their deeply weathered 60s. You’ll hear the inspirations: Dylan in his electric years; Wilco in their prime. You may be reminded of The Band, as various members take the mic. But you might not hear a more authentic commentary on the very human road we all travel.
