In this charming ballet Swanilda's fiance, Franz, becomes smitten with the young woman who lives above the shop of the eccentric toymaker Dr. Coppélius. A jealous Swanilda finds out that the subject of Franz's attention is just Dr. Coppélius' latest creation-- a life sized doll named Coppélia! Chaos ensues as Swanilda works to win back the heart of Franz.
