This hands-on workshop features instruction in flamenco guitar techniques, tonalities and rhythms. Flamenco Vivo guitar masterclasses are geared toward advanced beginner to professional level guitar students and artists. The masterclass increases the participants’ awareness and understanding of flamenco music and its cultural heritage. The class includes a brief history of the origins of flamenco and how the various cultures that inhabited Spain have influenced flamenco.
Special Flamenco Dance Workshop for Older Adults offered 4/16 at 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

This hands-on flamenco dance workshop includes instruction in rhythmic handclaps, arm movements, body posturing and footwork tailored to the participants’ experience level. The class is supportive and fun, and flamenco technique is woven into a simple, short choreography the participants will be able to “perform” at the end of the workshop. The class includes a brief history of the origins of flamenco dance, music and song and how the various cultures that inhabited Spain have influenced flamenco.
