Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade

Moving to 2017, Lakewood Symphony Orchestra will perform Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov. The epic story of Scheherazade's tales over 1001 nights in an orchestral masterpiece. There are 1001 reasons to attend this concert!

Beethoven's Symphony No. 3
Thursday, April 20
Hear Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, (Eroica). Originally dedicated to Napoleon, it brought out the greatest Beethoven had to offer. Upon hearing that Napolean had declared himself emperor, Beethoven rescinded the dedication by tearing the beautifully rendered title page in two. Hear the magnificence.

Holst's The Planets

The season finishes on June 1, 2017 with Holst's The Planets. Holst's amazing work sets the "music of the spheres" against the universe. A night of epic proportions. We will also present our 2017 Young Artist Competition winner.
